If you’re looking to relax after a busy week, Jones Creek Regional Branch Library has a couple of feature-length matinee movies planned for adults.

Knitting with Birdie
Birdie Sandifer will teach (or reteach) adults to knit in a session from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Jones Creek library branch. Knitting needles and supplies will be furnished, but attendees may bring their own yarn and needles.

CAPS classes available
Capital Region Builders Association will host courses in which people can earn a Certified Aging in Place Specialist designation in just three days.
Monday: Marketing and Communications Strategies (CAPS I)
Tuesday: Design/Build for the 50+ Housing Market (CAPS II)
Wednesday: Business Management
Classes will be held at the CRBA offices at 10518 Kentshire Court and are limited to 30 students per class. The classes were designed specifically for contractors, physical and occupational therapists; all three classes are required for CAPS certification.

Drama in the park
Tennessee Williams’ Pulitzer Prize-winning drama, “A Streetcar Named Desire,” will be performed at Independence Park Theatre from Aug. 13-16.
Shows start at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 13-15 and 3 p.m. Aug. 16.
“A Streetcar Named Desire” is the story of a culture clash between Blanche DuBois, a pretentious, fading relic of the Old South, and Stanley Kowalski, a rising member of the industrial, urban immigrant class.
The play is produced by Independence Park Theatre under the direction of Jason Breaux.
