Baton Rouge's Metro Council will have a retreat on Thursday morning to initiate new council members and remind veterans about the ins and outs of City Hall.

The council may consider making structural changes to how it has operated over the past few years. After recently toying with the idea of creating Metro Council committees, council members will now discuss them at the retreat. And the council will consider whether it's worth their time to create a vice mayor pro tem position.

Council members will also hear from several departments within City Hall. Those include the council budget office, the council administrator and treasurer, the parish attorney's office, the Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport, the public information office and the planning commission.

The retreat will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Drusilla Seafood.
