A Baton Rouge waitress performed an act of kindness to show her support for local police this week.
After serving three Baton Rouge police officers at Ichiban Thursday, the waitress, Crystal, surprised the officers by paying for their lunch. On their check, she wrote, "Thank y'all for what y'all do every day. Have a safe and blessed day. I figured the least I could do is buy lunch."
A Facebook post on the Baton Rouge Police Department page said that when the officers -- Brandon Blust, Dustin Conde and Fred Thorton -- thanked her for the gesture, she started crying and said that she was upset by how people have targeted police.
"We all couldn't stop from sharing this emotional moment and how much we appreciate the great people of this city," the police department said in its post.
