ANSWER: Deidra Druilhet, a public information officer for the state Department of Transportation and Development, says: “The Department has three projects scheduled to address road conditions along I-10 between I-49 and the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge. All three projects involve rehabilitating the roads and two of the projects will include widening.”

I-10 Widening from I-49 to La. 328

ESTIMATED COST: $100 million to $125 million.

ESTIMATED BID-LETTING DATE: July 2016.

SCOPE OF THE PROJECT: The project will include replacing pavement of the existing lanes and construction of an additional lane in each direction for 6.48 miles.

I-10 Widening from La. 328 to La. 347

ESTIMATED COST: $100 million to $125 million.

ESTIMATED BID-LETTING DATE: Fiscal year 2018/2019.

SCOPE OF THE PROJECT: The project will include replacing pavement of the existing lanes and construction of an additional lane in each direction for 4.3 miles.

I-10 Repaving from La. 347 to Atchafalaya Basin Bridge

ESTIMATED COST: $20 million to $30 million.

ESTIMATED BID-LETTING DATE: September 2016.

SCOPE OF THE PROJECT: The project will include replacing pavement of the existing the lanes in each direction for 2.7 miles along I-10 from La. 347 to the base of the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge.
