Saturday is the entry deadline for BREC’s annual MLK Basketball Tipoff Classic, slated for Jan. 15-17 at Sports Academy, 1002 Laurel St. The tournament has a two-game guarantee.

The ARC of Baton Rouge and BREC are partnering to offer noncompetitive, inclusive basketball leagues to participants ages 3 and older, with and without disabilities.

Introduction to the Internet

Teen game day
Jones Creek Regional Branch Library’s teen game day is from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and features “Minecraft” on the library’s new Xbox One, as well as refreshments.
BREC has badminton court times slated for 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at Forest Community Park and at 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Cedar Ridge Avenue Park.
Online catalog and databases
Jones Creek Regional Branch Library is offering a class on its online catalog and databases from 9:30 a.m. to noon Wednesday.
Participants will learn how to locate books, place holds, renew items, access databases with full-text magazines and thousands of books, learn languages and study online for the HiSET, ACT and many other tests — all from their home computer.

BREC’s “Little Picassos” program returns to Baringer Road Park at 6 p.m. Wednesday. Kids ages 4 to 10 and parents can create simple paintings and do arts and craft projects together. Materials will be provided.
Intro to computers
