Episcopal School of Baton Rouge third-grader Ella Stephens recently presented a $300 check from Lard Oil Co. to the school’s visual and performing arts chairwoman Shawn Halliday and performing arts director Paige Gagliano.

The money was raised through Lard Oil, which incorporated children’s artwork on its Facebook page and Christmas cards this year. The company donated $100 to each child’s school for every picture submitted by employees’ children.

Stephens had three winning entries and chose to designate the $300 donation to Episcopal’s performing arts program. The school honored her during a weekly service in the school’s Lewis Family Memorial Chapel of the Good Shepherd on Dec. 11.

Stephens’ parents are Jennifer and Wade Stephens.
