An argument between two Walmart employees Wednesday ended up in a stabbing of the boyfriend of one of the employees, according to an East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office report.

The incident at the 11550 Coursey Blvd. store began shortly before noon when employee Claude James LeDuff began arguing with a female coworker, who later called her boyfriend, telling him LeDuff “disrespected” her, the report says.

The boyfriend arrived at the store and told LeDuff he wanted to talk to him about the argument, adding that he had a gun in his car, the report says. LeDuff left his work station behind the deli counter, armed himself with a knife from the deli counter, and then initiated a fight with the victim elsewhere in the store.

The boyfriend, who was cut on the arm, was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, said Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Casey Rayborn Hicks.

LeDuff, 28, of Key Largo Drive, Port Allen, was booked into parish prison on aggravated battery and disturbing the peace.
