Sacred Heart of Jesus School fourth-graders let the good times roll with the school’s annual Mardi Gras parade on Feb. 5.

Reigning king and queen were Nicholas Jacobs and Inessa Robillard; guest emcee was Baton Rouge radio personality Dan Day, a 1995 Sacred Heart graduate; and eighth-graders Kendall Ourso and Ashley Stevens were the sound crew.

Beginning in the gym, the “Parade of the States” took paradegoers across the nation. Each fourth-grader introduced his or her red wagon float, representing one of the states. After all floats went around the gym, the parade moved outside, where fourth-graders threw beads, whistles, stuffed animals and other Mardi Gras throws.
