A 14-year-old boy shot while riding in the passenger’s seat of a car in a North Baton Rouge neighborhood Friday night is in critical condition from gunshot wounds, Baton Rouge police said.

The teen and the 20-year-old driver were riding in the car on the 1800 block of North 17th Street when someone shot at the car, injuring the driver and the passenger, said Baton Rouge Police spokesman Cpl. L'Jean McKneely.

The teen suffered from gunshot wounds to the head and chest, McKneely said.

The shooting is still under investigation, and detectives have yet to find a motive for the shooting, McKneely said.
