A Baton Rouge nonprofit group that recycles electronic waste is donating five refurbished desktop computers to the East Baton Rouge Library system for use by the public.

Nancy Jo Craig, executive director of the Capital Area Corporate Recycling Council, announced the donation in a news release.

She said the nonprofit heard that the library needed more computers and wanted to help because many people visiting parish libraries depend on the computers there for work and school purposes.

Craig said that for the past six years the nonprofit has run a “Computers for Louisiana Families” program that has made refurbished computers available to low-income families and the disabled.
