Photo provided by Terry Palmer -- Terry Palmer, of Palmer Graphics in Lafayette, refers to the field of 32 artificial gourds in his flower beds as the Palmer Pumpkin Patch. "It's fun listening to the kids come to the front door for Halloween, as you can hear them counting trying to figure out how many there are," Palmer says.

Trick-or-treat hours will be observed from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday for all of Ascension Parish and for most of East Baton Rouge, Livingston, East Feliciana and Iberville parishes.

Trick-or-treat hours are slightly different in two Livingston Parish towns — Albany’s is from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday, while Killian’s is from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday.

Exceptions that celebrated Halloween on Thursday include the city of Baker in East Baton Rouge Parish, West Feliciana Parish, the Livingston Parish town of Springfield and the towns of Clinton and Wilson in East Feliciana Parish.
