BREC’s Baton Rouge Zoo invites visitors to “Red, White and Zoo” on Saturday in honor of the Fourth of July.

Activities will include Safari Amphitheater programs, games and crafts featuring some of the zoo’s red, white and blue animals.

The zoo is at 3601 Thomas Road.

Anime for teens

Teens can come to the Bluebonnet Regional Branch Library for anime and snacks from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday . The gathering will be in meeting room 2.

Closed for holiday

The Bluebonnet library will be closed Saturday in observance of the Fourth of July. Regular hours will resume Sunday.

The Dream Jar

Children ages 8 to 11 can come the Bluebonnet library from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Monday to build a store or wagon with LEGO Junior Maker bricks in a projected inspired by “The Dream Jar” by Bonnie Pryor. The activity is in meeting room 1.

Introduction to Facebook

Library patrons can learn the basics of the popular social network Facebook from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Bluebonnet library.

Each patron will create an account and learn to find friends, to send public and private messages, to add interests, to edit personal information and to control security and privacy. Equipment will be supplied.
