Jackson Market Days

Jackson Market Days are held from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. the second Saturday of the month at the Vintage Village Flea Market, 2084 La. 10, in Jackson behind the Civic Center.

The next Jackson Market Day, set for Saturday, will feature arts and crafts, and handmade and homemade goodies from area vendors. Call (225) 202-2745 for information.

October Trainfest

All aboard as the Greater Baton Rouge Model Railroaders present a live steam-up from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 18 in Jackson at the Republic of West Florida Museum, 3406 College St.

Mini worlds in all scales from tiny Z to large garden railroad trains will be running.

Fallen officers ceremony

The official ceremony honoring fallen officers from East Feliciana Parish starts at 10 a.m. Oct. 16.

Relatives of the officers are being sought to make them aware of this dedication ceremony honoring their loved ones who died in the line of duty.

The ceremony will be held in Clinton between the East Feliciana Parish Sheriff’s Office and the East Feliciana Parish Courthouse.

U.S. Marshal Henry L. Whitehorn, former State Police superintendent, will be the guest speaker.

Honorees include Olan Lavon Seals, Jackson Police Department; Allen J. Heirtlzer, East Feliciana Parish Sheriff’s Office; Nolan L. Williamson, East Feliciana Parish Sheriff’s Office; and Richard “Ricky” Stiles Jr., East Feliciana Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Arthritis exercise class

The East Feliciana Council on Aging’s arthritis movement class starts at 11 a.m. Oct. 20 at the Council on Aging building, 11102 Bank St., in Clinton.
