These days, it seems like there’s a holiday for everything. But this Friday is an especially sweet occasion.

It’s National Donut Day, and Baton Rouge shops are getting in on the fun.

Tiger Deaux-nuts, 5162 Government St., revels in the celebration. The Mid City shop will offer regular flavors, and, on this special day, whip up some specialty flavors, including strawberry cream cheese, maple bacon, vanilla jalapeño, Nutella banana cream and blueberry cheesecake. The store will be open extended hours, too, from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.

“Customers were lining up out the door to treat themselves,” Tiger Deaux-nuts owner Jeff Herman said of previous National Donut Day sales. “We’re anxious for the response this year after having been more established in Mid City now.”

Herman’s shop will also offer a variety of giveaways throughout Friday, including gift cards, breakfast sandwiches and a free dozen deaux-nuts a month for a year.

Mr. Ronnie’s Famous Hot Donuts at 216 E. Lee Drive, Suite D, is offering donut deals on this Donut Day — a special $7.75 plus tax on any dozen, plus one free glazed donut per customer.

Thee Heavenly Donut is handing out Friday freebies — one free glazed donut per customer — at its 17732 Highland Road location. There’s also a shop at 5830 S. Sherwood Forest Blvd.

National chains are going to be serving up specials as well.

Krispy Kreme’s Baton Rouge locations are giving one free donut to each customer.

Dunkin’ Donuts’ classic donut comes free with any beverage purchase.

Still in the need of donuts for Donut Day, here’s a few more spots where you can pick up a dozen or three:

Coffee & Dough offers a wide selection of donuts, outside the usual suspects of glazed and chocolate glazed. The shop is located at 12240 Coursey Blvd., Suite B.

Mary Lee Donuts has multiple locations in Baton Rouge, including 8821 Highland Road, 4253 Perkins Road, 12640 Perkins Road, 13847 Coursey Blvd. and 3468 Drusilla Lane.
