A Mississippi woman is Louisiana’s latest millionaire.

The Louisiana Lottery says 29-year-old Samantha Netterville, of Woodville, claimed a $1 million Powerball prize from Saturday’s drawing. Netterville claimed the prize Monday just hours after learning she held the winning ticket. That ticket matched all five white-ball numbers drawn, but missed the red Powerball number.

Netterville purchased the ticket from State Line Food Mart in St. Francisville. The store will get a $10,000 bonus — 1 percent of the prize — for selling the winning ticket.

After state and federal taxes were withheld, Netterville received $700,000.

Netterville said she likely will purchase a car she’s wanted for some time, but plans to put most of the money into savings.
