National poll results still lackluster for Gov.Bobby Jindal as his chances fade for a prime-time Republican presidential debate appearance _lowres

Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal

What seems like a relentless drumbeat of disappointing national poll results continued Monday for Gov. Bobby Jindal, with another survey indicating he will fail to clear the bar for a prime-time appearance Thursday in the first nationally televised debates among candidates for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination.

The Monmouth University poll put Jindal 13th in the crowded Republican field, with 1.4 percent support. Real-estate developer and reality-TV celebrity Donald Trump topped the survey and is poised to claim the center lectern in the main, two-hour debate that Fox News will televise at 8 p.m. CT Thursday.
