A contractor working on Thanksgiving suffered an injury Thursday at the ExxonMobil Baton Rouge Refinery.

The incident happened during the course of regular operations and the man was taken local hospital for further treatment, Lana Venable, a spokeswoman for ExxonMobil Baton Rouge, said in a prepared statement.

The company would not elaborate on the extent of the man’s injuries.

“We regret that this incident occurred. Our thoughts and prayers are with the contractor and his family,” Refinery Manager Mark Northcutt said in the statement.

Exxon is investigating the cause of the accident.
