Agents with the state Office of Alcohol and Tobacco Control cited 14 adult entertainment venues during a statewide undercover investigation dubbed “Operation Trick or Treat.”

Strip clubs were issued citations for prostitution, lewd acts and drug activity, according to a news release from the agency.

The statewide operation comes weeks after nine clubs were cited in the French Quarter in New Orleans, according to the news release.

“ATC has two words for strip clubs across the state: straighten up,” said ATC Commissioner Troy Hebert. “It’s simple. If you allow drugs and prostitution, your alcohol permit will be in jeopardy.”

Three clubs in the Baton Rouge area were each cited for one count of prostitution: Real Entertainers, 5755 Airline Highway, Baton Rouge; Crazy Horse Cabaret, 2901 Interstate 10, Frontage Road, Port Allen; and Tipsy Tiger 2, 24505 Church St., Plaquemine, according to the agency.

Six of the businesses were issued emergency suspensions due to a threat to public safety, according to the agency.

The following strip clubs, according to the news release, were ordered to stop selling alcohol and/or tobacco products immediately: Shelly’s, of Houma; Temptations, of Sulphur; Club Vixen, of Lake Charles; Club Cabaret, of West Lake; and Judy’s Lounge and Temptations, two clubs in Morgan City.
