About 2,300 Entergy Baton Rouge customers were without power Thursday after a vehicle hit a utility pole at Highland Road and Lee Drive.

The outage began about 6:20 p.m., and Entergy expected most customers affected would have their power restored by about 10 p.m., Entergy spokesman Charlotte Cavell said.

The main area affected stretches along the side of Highland Road opposite the Mississippi River between Lee Drive and Staring Lane.

“Our crew is working as quickly as possible to repair the pole,” Cavell said.
