BATON ROUGE PRESS CLUB: Noon, De La Ronde Hall, which is located at 320 Third St., in downtown Baton Rouge. Buddy Leach, chairman of the state Democratic Party, will speak. Leach will discuss his party’s future in Louisiana and provide his forecast for Democratic challengers to GOP incumbents seeking election to six statewide offices on Oct. 22. Lunch, which will be served at 11:30 a.m., is $12 for members and $15 for non-members.

GO GO GERONIMO: 2:30 p.m., Main Library, 7711 Goodwood Blvd. Patrons will celebrate the mystery-solving rodent, Geronimo Stilton, with a trivia game and a newspaper scavenger hunt. Registration is required. Call (225) 231-3760.

METROPOLITAN COUNCIL DISTRICT 5 CITIZEN ADVISORY COUNCIL MEETING: 6 p.m., Sharon Hills Elementary School located at 6450 Guynell Drive, Baton Rouge. Presenters include the Mayor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness, representatives of the BR Proud initiative, Louisiana Department of Insurance, and SSO Communications team to give an update of the Hooper Storage Project.
