Update, 11:45 a.m.: The St. George Fire Department has given the "all clear" after construction workers hit a gas line on Jones Creek Road on Thursday morning.
A construction crew struck an 8-inch gas line in Baton Rouge on Thursday morning, according to the St. George Fire Department.
The fire department, hazmat workers, East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office, East Baton Rouge EMS and Entergy workers are on the scene as a precuation. No evacuations have been ordered, according to the St. George Fire Department, since the incident isn't considered dangerous to the public.
EBRSO is redirecting traffic off Jones Creek Road at Shenandoah and Ferrel avenues.
