A Lacombe man was sentenced to five years in prison Wednesday in a felony hit and run driving case in which a LSU graduate student and member of the university cycling club was severely injured in an accident on River Road last year.

State District Judge Don Johnson imposed the sentence on 31-year-old Marshall Hahn. Hahn faced up to 10 years in prison.

The victim, Michael Bitton, was in the court room when Hahn apologized to him. Bitton declined comment afterward.
