The Animal Control Center, 2680 Progress Road, has plenty of adoptable animals. The center is open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays. Adoptable pets also are offered to the public at weekly off-site locations listed at http://www.friendsoftheanimalsbr.org. The center is closed Sundays and holidays. Before adoption, all animals are spayed, neutered, given microchip identification implants, vaccinated and provided with a rabies voucher. Volunteers are needed to foster animals for periods ranging from one week to two months. Contact Animal Control by phone at (225) 774-7700 for details.
