Art and music were front and center when Sacred Heart of Jesus School held its annual Art Show and Choir Concert on April 17.

Art displays by students in prekindergarten through eighth-grade included butterflies showing positive and negative space, carved linoleum stamps, “Noodle Creations,” graffiti art and self-portraits through paper sculptures. Dorothy Calandro is the school art teacher.

The choir, under the director of Melissa Seidule and including students in fifth through eighth grade, performed selections including “I Love You, Lord,” “Sanctuary” and “Oceans.”

Featured performers included Hillary Leonard, sixth-grade, who performed a piano solo; Lillian Gales, sixth-grade, accompanied by eighth-grader Mikiyah Parker on piano, “Rise Up”; Andrew Nguyen, sixth grade, and his seventh-grade sister, Kaitlyn Nguyen, piano duet, “Greensleeves”; and eighth-grader Beau Brown and his sixth-grade sister, Madeleine, two fiddle duets.
