‘A Charlie Brown Christmas’
From Friday through Dec. 20, Playmakers of Baton Rouge will present its stage adaptation of the classic animated TV special “A Charlie Brown Christmas” at the LSU Reilly Theatre.

LASM Discovery Dome
Louisiana Art & Science Museum’s Discovery Dome brings its new show, “Let it Snow: A Holiday Music Journey,” to Bluebonnet Regional Branch Library on Wednesday.
Enjoy music by Frank Sinatra, Chuck Berry, Burl Ives, Brenda Lee and a multimedia finale by the Trans Siberian Orchestra in a family-friendly show with full dome animation, laser imagery and special effects. Children of all ages are welcome.

Women’s Christmas party
Women Bringing Women will hold its free Leola’s City Wide After Christmas Party — for women suffering from life struggles and need to be refreshed — at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 26.
The party will be in the Fellowship Hall of Heartsease Family Life Church, 1212 Florida Blvd., in the Dirt Cheap Shopping Center.
Special guest is national singing artist Anita Jarrell Robertson. Dress is semiformal with emphasis on the color red.

CASA volunteers needed
The next volunteer training course for Capital Area CASA Association begins Jan. 19. Orientation sessions will be held at the CASA office, 848 Louisiana Ave., at 5 p.m. Thursday and noon Wednesday.
CASAs, or court-appointed special advocates, speak up for abused children to help them reach safe, permanent homes. No special background is required.
