Boo at the Zoo

BREC’s Baton Rouge Zoo will host Boo at the Zoo, a trick-or-treating event for children, on Saturday and Sunday, as well as Oct. 24-25.

Wear your costume and visit treat stations, take a photo at the Safari Snapshot booth, ride the Spooky Train or take a trip through the Hay Maze and Enchanted Swamp.

Zoo gates are open from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and close at 5 p.m. Regular admission prices apply.

Take Back the Night

The Iris Domestic Violence Center’s annual Take Back the Night event for Baton Rouge will be held Sunday at the LSU campus Memorial Tower.

A resource fair with music and food begins at 5 p.m. The candlelight march gets underway at 6 p.m., followed by a candlelight ceremony at 7 p.m.

“October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month,” said Executive Director Lynne Medley-Long. “Increasing awareness and educating our communities to recognize domestic violence will help end this pointless violence against women and children.”

Rocket’s Game Night

Rocket’s Hideout Cards and Games is back for an evening of board games for adults at Jones Creek Regional Branch Library on Wednesday. Gaming gets started at 6:30 p.m. and wraps up at 8:30 p.m.

‘Come as you aren’t’ bingo
