The window to apply for the open position of East Baton Rouge Parish Attorney ended Friday, and 17 people have applied for the position left vacant when Mary Roper was fired by the Metro Council last year.

The parish Attorney is the top lawyer for the city-parish and the administrator of the parish attorney’s office which represents the Mayor-President’s Office, the Metro Council, and the various governmental departments in legal affairs.
