Three students from Kenilworth Science and Technology School in Baton Rouge were honored for their science projects in a six-state science fair recently held in Houston.
Daevyun Williams took third place in the junior division’s Health and Medicine category on March 5 at the Harmony Science and Engineering Fair, which featured more than 100 projects from schools in Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Tennessee and Louisiana.
Kenilworth students Andrew Knott and Nicholas Pygeol also received honorable mention awards in the junior division.
“I think it’s amazing that Kenilworth is on the same level with these students from other states, from bigger schools,” said Lykisha Vaughan-Pygeol, Nicholas’ mother, who traveled with the students to Houston. “I’ve seen the amount of work and attention to detail that Kenilworth teachers put it, and it is really at the top level.”
