Members of the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office’s K-9 Division won 11 awards at the United States Police Canine Association Region 10 field trials, including Top Patrol Dog and Top Narcotics Dog for the region.

The field trials, held April 1-5 in Covington, hosted 31 narcotics teams and 37 patrol teams, Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Casey Rayborn Hicks said in a news release.

Capt. James Broussard and his dog Indo won first in patrol, evidence search and rookie dog team, second in agility and third in obedience, Hicks said.

The duo also received the Tom Larson Award for the Top Patrol Dog in Region 10, a first for a member of the Sheriff’s Office, Hicks said.

Cpl. Shannon Graham and Mylo won first in indoor search in the narcotics division and were awarded the Top Narcotics Dog award for Region 10, Hicks said.

Deputy Diana Wales and Enzo won first in obedience, Lt. Steven Whitstine and Kodo finished third in agility, and Cpl. Jesse Hale and Jumma won first in outdoor search of a vehicle, Hicks said.
