East Baton Rouge Parish operations will have a change of hours in observance of the Thanksgiving holidays.

East Baton Rouge city-parish government offices and state and federal courts will be closed Thursday and Friday.

Solid waste, including trash and garbage, and recyclables will not be collected on Thursday. For those who normally have trash collected on Thursday, garbage will be collected on the next service day. Residents whose recyclables are not picked up on Thanksgiving should have them collected on Saturday.

East Baton Rouge Parish libraries will close at 6 p.m. Wednesday and remain closed through Thanksgiving. They will reopen for regular hours on Friday.

All BREC facilities will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, with the exception of Howell Golf Course. Howell’s last 18-hole tee time will be 10:30 a.m. and its last nine-hole tee time will be 11:45 a.m.

BREC’s recreation centers, tennis centers, Cohn Arboretum, Highland Road Park Observatory and the Independence Park Theatre will all remain closed on Friday and re-open on Saturday.

Reopening on Friday are BREC’s golf courses, Baton Rouge Zoo, Bluebonnet Swamp Nature Center, Farr Park Equestrian Center, Magnolia Mound Plantation and the Perkins Road Extreme Park.
