Capital Area Court Appointed Special Advocate Association honored its volunteers for their advocacy efforts on behalf of abused children during National Volunteer Week, April 10-16.

A volunteer appreciation lunch was held April 13 at the CASA office, where staff and board members served as waiters. The Massage Emporium also provided chair massages.

During that week, CASA held two other fundraisers — the fifth annual Terracon Golf Benefit and the CASA Carnival.

Approximately 130 golfers turned out for the golf tournament, held April 11 at University Club. Nearly $12,500 was raised at the event, which featured door prizes, contest hole prizes, food and drinks.

Terracon has raised nearly $50,000 for CASA since the tournament began in 2012.

The CASA Carnival at the LSU Kappa Alpha Theta sorority house on April 15 brought in approximately 800 guests and raised more than $24,000. The carnival included jambalaya, carnival games, a silent auction and a dunk booth featuring LSU Student Body President Zachary Faircloth and Miss Louisiana Teen USA Ellie Picone.
