It's not every day a high school receives high praise from celebrities like Ellen DeGeneres and Brad Paisley.

But that's exactly what happened to St. Joseph's Academy in Baton Rouge on Tuesday. In its quest to collect 30,000-plus pounds of canned goods for the homeless, SJA sought some free publicity from DeGeneres.

An SJA student tweeted a photo of a letter to DeGeneres, requesting she help get the word out about the school's charitable drive.

SJA's food drive ends Friday at 3 p.m. before its annual Challenge Day vs. its rival, brother school, Catholic High.
