The West Baton Rouge Parish Council issued an advisory Sunday night advising some residents in the northeast section of the parish to boil all parish-provided water following a mechanical failure in the parish’s water supply.
The advisory was issued on the parish’s website.
Residents who live in the following areas were advised to boil water for at least one minute before use:
- La. 415 from Lafiton Lane going south to the end of La. 415.
- Rosedale Road, Court Street and Commercial Drive — east of La. 415 to the city limits of Port Allen.
- I-10 Frontage Road West of La. 415
- South Westport Drive
- Southern Pacific Road
Residents who have not experienced low water pressure are exempt from the boil advisory, according to the parish council’s website.
“The West Baton Rouge Parish Natural Gas & Water System will rescind this Boil Advisory upon notification from the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals – Office of Public Health that additional water samples collected from our water supply system have shown our water to be safe,” the council posted on its website Sunday night.
