The Southside Civic Association held its inaugural Easter egg hunt on March 29 at the playground of Southdowns Pre-K Center.
Along with about 50 children up to 10 years old, about 40 adults attended the event.
Residents came from Southdowns, University Gardens and Southdowns Gardens and arrived by foot, stroller, wagon, bicycle and car, organizers said.
There were plenty of eggs and refreshments, and neighbors spent time socializing after the hunt.
One of the goals for the SSCA is to have more neighborhood get-togethers, organizers said.
Tania Nyman served as chairwoman. Committee members and volunteers assisting included Peter Ricca; Barry Mele; Kathy Wascom; Margaret Nabers; Ivy Barnes; Carole Anne Brown and her grandchildren, Helen, William and Elise Valadie, and Nyman’s children, Parrish and Aidan Johnson.
