The Foundation for Historical Louisiana will hold its 17th annual Old Governor’s Mansion Gala on Oct. 29 at the mansion.

This year’s theme, “Fete Acadienne Extraordinaire,” celebrates the 250th anniversary of the Acadians in Louisiana.

The collection of George Rodrigue’s “Saga of the Acadians,” 15 original paintings, will be on exhibit through a special loan from the owners, the Anne and Wendell Gauthier family and the George Rodrigue Foundation for Arts.

FHL Executive Director Fairleigh Jackson encourages guests to dress in evening attire, especially with emphasis on red, blue and gold, or to aspire to an Acadian or Cajun historical character.

Tickets are $125 per person for FHL members and $150 for nonmembers. The event includes a complimentary bar, Cajun and Louisiana cuisine, live music and an auction. The preview party begins at 6:30 p.m. and the gala at 7:30 p.m.

For tickets to the preview party or the gala, call (225) 387-2464 or order online at fhl.org.
