Alcohol over-saturation has become thorn in side for Metro Council _lowres

The East Baton Rouge Parish Metro Council postponed making appointments to the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board this week after several members decried the heavy presence of alcohol-sellers in their districts.

Instead of discussing the merits of the candidates, the conversation shifted to the Metro Council members’ frustration over more places to buy alcohol creeping into their neighborhoods without safe-guards in place. Those who represented more urban and economically depressed parts of the city were especially irked by the Board’s actions.
