Crocheting and knitting
Start 2016 in a crafty way by learning to knit or crochet at Bluebonnet Regional Branch Library.
The Crochet Corner meets at 3:30 p.m. Jan. 14 and covers basic stitches, reading patterns and how to make a scarf. Bring a 5.0 mm (size H) or larger crochet hook. A limited supply of yarn will be provided.
The Knitting Nook, which gets together at 10:30 a.m. Jan. 14 and Jan. 28, will teach you how to create items including dishcloths, scarves, shawls and blankets. Limited supplies are available. Bring a pair of size 8, 9, 10 or 10 knitting needles and at least one ball of yarn.
Wings of Hope
Leslie Lattimore, of Wings of Hope Wildlife Sanctuary, is coming to Bluebonnet Regional Branch Library at 3:30 p.m. Jan. 14 to visit with children ages 6 to 11. Children under 9 must be accompanied by an adult.
Lattimore will introduce children to live birds of prey while presenting facts and history behind the animals as well as their impact on the environment.
