Beginning Monday, the Woodland Ridge Boulevard Bridge over Jones Creek will be closed for repairs for approximately one month.
State inspectors identified “critical deficiencies” in the bridge’s timber structure last month, causing city-parish officials to load restrict the bridge to 5 tons.
The monthlong closure will accommodate repairs that will include multiple timber pile splicing.
The bridge provides primary access to Episcopal High School.
Vehicle access will be prohibited, but pedestrian access will be allowed as long as no repair work is occurring on the bridge deck.
