Four Girl Scout Juniors in Baton Rouge Troop 10594 have earned the Girl Scout Bronze Award, the highest award a Girl Scout Junior can achieve, a news release said.

The award requires the completion of a series of leadership challenges and prepares the Scouts for a final project.

United in their love of dogs, Girl Scout Juniors Mollie Hannie, Sarah Kiefer, Sophia Paz and Kate Smith decided to assist the Yelp! Pet Adoption Shelter, where they volunteered to bathe and walk the dogs, in addition to helping at an adoption event and donating items to the shelter.

They put their creativity to use by sewing blankets for the shelter dogs, as well as creating an informational video to inspire others to adopt a homeless dog.

The project adviser was Alison Paz.
