The 10th annual North Gate Fest, presented by the North Gate Merchants Association, will be held from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, on Chimes Street at the North Gates of LSU.
This year’s festival will feature more than 20 local artists; local performance art including Acro Rouge; original music; and food. The musical lineup will include The Easy, Ship of Fools, Captain Green and artists from Baton Rouge Music Studios. KLSU will play in its own area, along with performances from local hoopers, belly dancers and acro yogis.
KLSU and the NGMA will sponsor a Halloween costume contest, with the winner to be announced from the main stage that night.
Jewelry and art will be available for purchase from local artisans. Food will be provided by The Chimes, Mahoney’s Bar, Barcadia and Louie’s Cafe. Beer and soft drinks will be sold.
The NGMA will make a donation to its chosen charity this year, Baton Rouge’s community radio station WHYR.
