Filming on Tuesday for Tom Cruise’s upcoming “Jack Reacher” movie will close part of Florida Street in downtown Baton Rouge.
Florida Street will be closed between 5 a.m. and 6 p.m. Tuesday from 7th Street to 9th Street, according to city-parish officials.
Downtown commuters may also find it more difficult to find street parking because of the closure — vehicles won’t be able to park on the 200 and 300 blocks of North Seventh Street or on the north side of Florida Street’s 700 block.
Production crews will be filming scenes for the sequel “Jack Reacher: Never Go Back.” The first “Jack Reacher” movie, starring Cruise in the title role, was a hit in 2012.
Filming for the sequel has been ongoing in New Orleans and Baton Rouge. Cruise attended the LSU vs. Florida football game in October, when he sat in LSU Athletic Director Joe Alleva’s suite.
In November, filming for other scenes in the movie shut down part of North Street.
Baton Rouge police will be on scene at Florida Street on Tuesday and will help to restrict traffic. Trucks will take an alternate route on North Street to bypass the closure.
