Kevin James, the actor and comedian known for his role on television’s “King of Queens” and the film “Paul Blart: Mall Cop,” stopped for lunch at City Pork on Perkins Road for a heaping helping of ... salad.

James made a pit stop in Baton Rouge on his way from New Orleans to Longview, Texas, on his stand-up comedy tour. His crew stopped at the deli and charcuterie after searching the top restaurants in the area online on either Yelp or Urban Spoon, said Chase Lyons, a co-owner of the restaurant.

While James had the house salad, his traveling companions ordered the BLT with a fried egg.

“It was very low-key,” said Chase Lyons, a co-owner of the restaurant. “I was the only person in the restaurant who recognized him. I’m glad we gave him his privacy.”

Before leaving, the star, whose new film “Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2” comes out next month, posed for a picture with Lyons and chef Sean Rivera.

Apparently Wednesday’s 80-degree temperatures coaxed him into wearing running shorts and a T-shirt in rainy 30-degree weather.
