Bayou Country Superfest organizers confirmed Tuesday that the country music festival will return to Tiger Stadium for Memorial Day weekend of 2012.
“It’s on,” Quint Davis, Superfest producer-director, said in a statement. “We’re planning another fun-filled holiday weekend of the best country music, unrivaled LSU Tiger Stadium-style tailgaiting, and lots of Baton Rouge and Louisiana hospitality.”
The performers for Superfest will be announced in the coming months, the news release says.
This will be the third year at Tiger Stadium for the two-day concert, which has already drawn some of the biggest names in country music, such as Tim McGraw, Kenny Chesney, Taylor Swift and the Zac Brown Band.
Earlier this month, local officials agreed to pay Davis a total of $600,000 to keep the concert in Baton Rouge.
The state Office of Tourism, the Baton Rouge Area Convention and Visitors Bureau and a recovery grant from British Petroleum allocated to the parish are each providing $200,000.
The concert is scheduled for May 26 and 27.
