Essen Lane is closed at the railroad crossing south of Interstate 10 through Monday at 5 a.m. The weekend-long closure will allow crews from the Kansas City Southern Railway to reconstruct the Essen Lane railroad crossing, the state Department of Transportation and Development announced.
The closure started at 9 p.m. Friday.
Motorists are suggested to use the following detours during the closure:
- Drivers south of the closure traveling north on Essen Lane should take Perkins Road to Bluebonnet Boulevard to detour around the closure.
- I-10 eastbound drivers should exit at Acadian Thruway then travel east on Perkins Road to Essen Lane.
- I-10 westbound traffic should exit at Bluebonnet Boulevard, travel south to Perkins Road, then west to Essen Lane.
