The Crowning Moment girls from the Baton Rouge area participated in the annual Lauren Savoy Olinde Foundation Hat Run on April 25 at Pennington Biomedical Research Center.

The local beauty queens volunteered their time to help Sarah Lomax Grey, founder of the LSO Foundation, host the event.

The queens walked in the race, helped hand out awards and volunteered where needed, a news release from Crowning Moment owner Erin Husbands said.

The Crowning Moment offers youth mentoring and pageant coaching to girls across the Gulf Coast, Husbands said.

Girls and their families spend time not only on the stage, but participating in community events and working with charities.
