All Star Toyota of Baton Rouge will begin work on an extensive remodeling of its showroom in the next “three or four weeks,” a project that will take about six months to complete.
The final dollar amount for the work at the Airline Highway dealership is still being determined, said Matt McKay, president of All Star Automotive Group, but the project is expected to cost a “good million-and-a-half plus.”
McKay said the work is being done to keep the dealership’s showroom in line with Toyota’s standards. “We’re putting in a new air conditioner, a new roof, new décor and tile,” he said. “We’re complying to what Toyota’s architects tell us to do.”
The timing of the remodeling at All Star Automotive works out well, McKay said. The dealership recently remodeled its Ford Lincoln lot in Prairieville, All Star Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram and All Star Ford Lincoln, both in Denham Springs, and is currently working on All Star Chevrolet.
“Once we’ve finished at All Star Chevrolet, we’ll go on to Toyota,” he said. “It’s an ongoing process to keep our dealerships nice and clean.”
