The TV show “Breakout Kings” will begin shooting its second season in the Baton Rouge area in October.

The 10-episode action crime drama will spend six to seven months shooting on locations in Baton Rouge and Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola as well as the Celtic Media Centre in Baton Rouge.

The show airs on A&E, and is the first television show to get shot in Baton Rouge.

“Baton Rouge is rapidly gaining a reputation as the Hollywood of the South after several big-budget movies, including ‘Battle: Los Angeles’ and ‘Twilight: Breaking Dawn,’ have had positive experiences filming here,” Mayor Kip Holden said in a statement. “We are looking to build on that same type of success with our first television series.”
