Teri Fontenot, chief executive officer and president of Woman’s Hospital and chairman-elect of the American Hospital Association, has been named one of the “100 Most Influential People in Healthcare” by Modern Healthcare from more than 414,000 nominations nationwide.

LSU AgCenter Chancellor Bill Richardson, Vice Chancellor Paul Coreil and Associate Vice Chancellor Dwight Landreneau have been selected to receive the Honorary American FFA Degree, which is given to those who advance agricultural education and FFA (formerly the Future Farmers of America) through outstanding personal commitment. Richardson was cited for his leadership in Louisiana’s FFA program; Coreil for developing a close working relationship between FFA and Louisiana 4-H; and Landreneau for his support of the FFA program by participating in state FFA events.

Bobbie Favaron, of Hair Unlimited in Baton Rouge, was named 2011 Louisiana Barber of the Year by the Louisiana Board of Barber Examiners.
