Specialty chemicals maker and lithium producer Albemarle Corp. reported a fourth-quarter profit of $116.2 million, or $1.03 per share, compared to a $77.4 million, or 99 cents per share, a year ago.
For the year, Albemarle turned a profit of $439.4 million, or $3.94 per diluted share, compared to $332.1 million, or $4.20 per share.
The 2015 fourth-quarter and full-year results beat Wall Street’s expectations. Stock analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research had forecast 83 cents per share for the quarter and $3.74 for the year.
Albemarle said it expects 2016 per-share earnings in the range of $3.45 to $3.80.
