Bistro Byronz, the popular Government Street restaurant, plans to open its second Baton Rouge location in The Villages at Willow Grove.
The restaurant will take up about 4,000 square feet on the first floor of a building currently under construction. The Villages at Willow Grove will be the commercial center of The Settlement at Willow Grove, a traditional neighborhood development on Perkins Road.
Emelie Alton, one of the owners of Bistro Byronz, said discussions had gone on for several years with Willow Grove developer Richard Carmouche about opening a location in the traditional neighborhood development.
“Things have exploded out there and he’s ready to move forward,” Alton said. So much so that Carmouche will be one of the owners of the Willow Grove Bistro Byronz.
The Willow Grove Bistro Byronz will have a similar look and menu to the Government Street location. “This is about getting into another area of town and having better access to folks who don’t get to our place as often as they would like to,” Alton said.
The plan is to open the restaurant by late fall. This will be the fourth Bistro Byronz, joining a location in Shreveport and a licensed restaurant in Mandeville in The Market at Chenier.
The restaurant will include an outdoor dining area, private dining rooms, event space and more bar space than the Government Street location.
“This is the first restaurant we have truly built from the ground up,” Alton said.
